The mission

IndiaFocal is English-language news for India, built around one plain idea: cover governance, government schemes, and the events that shape daily life, and make that coverage useful to a reader preparing for a competitive exam. UPSC, SSC, and state PSC aspirants read current affairs every day as part of their preparation — IndiaFocal treats that reader as its first reader, not an afterthought. That is why the daily current-affairs digest exists: dated, categorised coverage you can actually study from, not a general feed you have to sift through.

Everyone else is welcome too. The same discipline that serves an aspirant — grounded facts, a clear source, an honest label on every article — serves any reader who wants straightforward news without noise.

The Manthan connection

IndiaFocal is the English sibling of Manthan News, which publishes in Hindi. The two sites draw on the same reporting: an article that runs in Hindi on Manthan and in English here usually comes from the same underlying story, and translated articles carry a link across to their Hindi original on Manthan News. Manthan is the older, Hindi-first property; IndiaFocal is where that coverage reaches English readers directly, on its own site, rather than through a language toggle bolted onto Manthan's own pages.

How it's made

Most of what you read on IndiaFocal is produced by an automated editorial engine rather than written by a reporter at a keyboard: articles are drafted from cited, published sources. Today, every article on IndiaFocal originates in Hindi and is machine-translated into English. That is not hidden — every article carries the translation disclosure, and one of three honest labels for how much checking it has had, human or automated.
