Push for indigenisation in defence sector, government issues new list

The central government has notified a new indigenisation list with the aim of promoting local manufacturing in the defence sector. Various defence equipment ranging from helicopters to warships have been included in this list. According to official information, the main objective of this step is to boost the domestic production of military hardware in the country and reduce dependence on defence imports.
