Blocking traditional elephant corridors is not the solution to human-wildlife conflict: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has stated that obstructing the traditional movement corridors of elephants cannot be a solution to the growing conflict between humans and wildlife. The apex court has directed the Central Government to conduct a nationwide survey to remove obstacles present in elephant pathways. Along with this, the court has also ordered to ensure a complete ban on the use of burning fireballs and sharp spikes to drive away elephants.
