Stars Turn Out in Force for 2026 VMAs at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards brought pop's biggest names to downtown Los Angeles, with Madonna leading nominations and Swift set for a historic honour.
Pop music's leading figures gathered at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, walking an aqua-coloured carpet ahead of a ceremony known for encouraging bold fashion choices.
Taylor Swift and Tyla were among the arrivals drawing attention, while Paris Hilton appeared alongside Nicky Hilton Rothschild. David Corenswet attended with Isabella May, and Ella Bright arrived with Belmont Cameli. Also on the carpet were rapper Gunna, Alex Warren with Kouvr Annon, and Emma Bunton.
Snoop Dogg hosted the show, which featured performances from Madonna, Kacey Musgraves, LISA, RAYE, SOMBR, Teddy Swims and others. Presenters included Charli xcx, Chuck D, Paris Hilton, Teyana Taylor and Tyla.
The night's anticipated highlights included Swift receiving the first VMA Artist Director honour, Nirvana taking the Vanguard Award, and tributes to Dolly Parton and George Michael.
On the awards front, Madonna topped the nominations with 13, followed by Swift with 11. Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Sabrina Carpenter were among the other leading nominees.
The ceremony was broadcast live in the United States on CBS, MTV and Paramount+, with global availability the following day on Paramount+ and MTV.
