Stars Walk Blue Carpet at 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles
The 78th Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a blue carpet and a ceremony hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
Television's leading figures assembled at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday night for the 78th Emmy Awards, arriving on a blue carpet rather than the traditional red.
The carpet's colour echoed the peacock emblem of broadcaster NBC, which aired the ceremony live and also streamed it on Peacock. The network is marking its 100th anniversary this year.
Among those posing for photographs and greeting colleagues before the ceremony were Adam Brody, Lisa Ann Walter and Niecy Nash-Betts, who appeared both alone and alongside Jessica Betts. Other arrivals included Derek Hough, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, Hoon Lee, Chris Perfetti, Samba Schutte, Miriam Shor, Elaine Hendrix, Lena Hall and Mark Tallman, who was joined by Jessica Tallman.
The evening was hosted by three-time Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay, who was also a double nominee for directing and producing the documentary "My Mom Jayne." The ceremony marked the 30th anniversary of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the 50th anniversary of "Charlie's Angels," with cast members from both shows among the presenters.
HBO Max's real-time emergency room drama "The Pitt" entered last year's awards as a newcomer and took best drama, best actor for star Noah Wyle and best supporting actress for Katherine LaNasa. Returning as an established contender, the show was expected to repeat in all three categories and could add three more, with Wyle himself in the running for three trophies. Its ensemble earned four nominations in the supporting actress category and three more for supporting actor.
"Euphoria" returned to the Emmys after a long absence with seven nominations. Zendaya, who won best actress in a drama for the show's first two seasons in 2020 and 2022, received a nod for the recently aired third season.
