AAP Re-elects Arvind Kejriwal as National Convener at 15th Council Meet
Arvind Kejriwal was unanimously re-elected AAP's national convener at the party's 15th National Council meeting, which also saw a new National Executive formed.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unanimously re-elected Arvind Kejriwal as its national convener during its 15th National Council meeting, held on Wednesday via video conference. The meeting, chaired by Kejriwal, saw participation from 330 members.
Kejriwal has held the position of national convener since the party's founding in 2012. Alongside his re-election, the party announced the formation of a new 23-member National Executive. The body includes prominent leaders such as Atishi, Bhagwant Mann, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Gopal Rai, among others.
Pankaj Gupta was elected as the national secretary, while N D Gupta will continue in his role as national treasurer. The party also appointed five special invitees to the National Executive, including Ajay Dutt, Imran Hussain, and Mehraj Malik.
During the meeting, Kejriwal and other senior leaders briefed members on the party's future strategy. AAP's national media in-charge, Anurag Dhanda, congratulated Kejriwal on his re-election, stating that the party is ready for every struggle under his guidance.
AAP was formally launched in Delhi in November 2012 by Kejriwal and other activists from the anti-corruption movement. The party was recognised by the Election Commission in 2013 and went on to form governments in Delhi and Punjab. Kejriwal served as Delhi's chief minister for three terms between 2013 and 2024.
