Carla Jeffery, 'Zombies' Franchise Star, Dies at 33

Carla Jeffery, the actress widely recognized for her role as Bree in Disney's 'Zombies' film franchise, has died. She was 33.

Her longtime management team confirmed that Jeffery passed away on September 1. The cause of death has not been made public.

In a statement, her manager, Carla Alexander, remembered Jeffery as a vibrant and talented performer. The team expressed profound sadness, noting they had watched her grow over two decades into a woman whose radiant smile could light up any room.

Jeffery began acting at age 12, landing an early role in 'Phat Girlz' as the younger version of Mo'Nique's character. She later gained widespread fame for her portrayal of Bree in the 'Zombies' trilogy, a role she reprised for the animated series 'Zombies: The Re-Animated Series'.

Her television credits also include appearances in 'Good Luck Charlie', 'Shake It Up', 'Southland', 'Suburgatory', and 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'. She appeared in 10 episodes of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' as Keysha Black. Jeffery also lent her voice to the character Mania in 'Spider-Man' in 2020.

Following the news, her 'Zombies' co-star Chandler Kinney paid tribute on social media, describing Jeffery as the sweetest, most sparkly person. Kinney expressed gratitude for knowing her, recalling their shared laughter and Jeffery's signature dance moves, and affirmed that her legacy of bringing joy would live on.
