Agriculture Ministry Suspends Marketing Officer Over Bribery Complaint in Sehore
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered the immediate suspension of Marketing Officer Anurag following a bribery complaint from two warehouses in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district.
The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare has suspended a Marketing Officer with immediate effect after a complaint alleged that he sought bribes from two warehouses in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district.
The officer, identified as Anurag, is accused of demanding money during an inspection in the district in exchange for releasing subsidy amounts. According to the complaint, a demand of ₹1 lakh was made from Shivay Warehouse in Bhairunda tehsil, while ₹60,000 was allegedly sought from Shri Krishna Warehouse in Beherakhedi village, in the Rehti area.
The matter was brought to the attention of Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who took serious note of the allegations and directed immediate action. Following those directions, Anurag was placed under suspension with immediate effect.
The ministry's response signals that complaints of irregularities or bribery in government processes affecting farmers and warehouse operators will be treated seriously and acted upon.
