Ahmedabad Police Bust Fake Premium Liquor Racket in Krishnanagar, One Held

Ahmedabad Police have dismantled an illegal liquor refilling operation in the Krishnanagar area of the city, arresting a 23-year-old man and launching a hunt for three others allegedly involved in the racket.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Hemal alias Heku Maheshbhai Vaghela, a resident of Thakkarbapa Nagar. According to police officials, the network ran a sophisticated black-market scheme in which empty glass bottles, matching caps and original brand stickers were collected and then filled with cheaper foreign-made liquor.

The bottles were subsequently sealed and labelled to resemble genuine premium brands, which were then sold illegally at inflated prices. Liquor is prohibited in Gujarat.

Acting on a tip-off received by Head Constable Rajendrasinh Balwantsinh, the racket was intercepted during routine police patrolling. The operation led to the seizure of contraband and materials valued at more than Rs 1.32 lakh.

Among the items recovered were 47 full bottles of various liquor brands, 71 quarters, 15 beer cans, 322 empty labelled glass bottles, 118 empty plastic quarters, 293 caps and 211 brand stickers.

While Vaghela has been taken into custody, authorities have launched a search for three accomplices wanted in connection with the criminal conspiracy: Bharat alias Bharto Kishonbhai Solanki, Vijay Hirabhai Solanki and Sunil Ganeshbhai Solanki. Further investigation into the case is underway.
