AIADMK's Udhayakumar blames TVK govt for prolonged power cuts in Tamil Nadu

AIADMK leader R.B. Udhayakumar on Tuesday accused the TVK government of failing to address the State's electricity needs, attributing the ongoing power cuts to what he described as a lackadaisical approach by the administration.

In a statement, Mr. Udhayakumar said the State has been experiencing outages lasting several hours ever since the TVK government assumed charge. He argued that the administration has not done enough to bridge the gap between electricity demand and supply.

The AIADMK leader said the prolonged power cuts have had a particularly severe impact on students preparing for the forthcoming quarterly examinations, disrupting their study schedules at a critical time.

He urged the government to take immediate steps to stabilise the power supply and ensure that households, and students in particular, are not burdened by extended outages.

The criticism adds to the pressure on the TVK government over its management of the State's power sector, an issue that has drawn public attention in recent weeks.
