Centre approves transfer of AIIMS-Mangalagiri land for Amaravati road link
Health ministry approves allotting 3.34 acres of AIIMS-Mangalagiri land for the E-13 Road Extension Corridor in Amaravati, with 10 acres of alternative land to be provided.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has granted in-principle approval for the transfer of 3.34 acres of land belonging to AIIMS-Mangalagiri for the construction of the E-13 Road Extension Corridor in Amaravati. The road project is intended to connect the E-13 corridor with National Highway 16.
The Ministry has stated that the decision was taken in the public interest. As part of the arrangement, the district administration has been directed to expedite the handover of 10 acres of alternative land to AIIMS-Mangalagiri in exchange for the acreage being diverted for the road project.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said the Central and State governments, along with the district administration, are coordinating to resolve the land-related issues and facilitate the key connectivity project. He added that the completion of the road link would improve connectivity between Mangalagiri and Guntur, enabling faster movement and better road infrastructure for the public.
In a related development, the Ministry has also advised officials to complete the demarcation and handover of the remaining 6 acres pending from the approximately 183 acres originally allotted to AIIMS-Mangalagiri.
