Air India to Restore Most Curtailed Flights From September 1

Air India will bring back most of the flight services it had trimmed during July and August, with the restoration taking effect from September 1. The move reverses the earlier reduction in capacity that was prompted by a sharp rise in aviation fuel prices.

The airline communicated the decision through an internal memo, indicating that the curtailment period is coming to an end. While the memo does not specify the exact number of flights or routes being restored, it confirms that the majority of the affected services will resume.

In addition to the restoration, Air India plans to increase frequencies on several long-haul routes during the upcoming winter season. The additional services will cover Milan, Frankfurt, Zurich, Vienna, Melbourne, Tokyo, and New York, reflecting the carrier's strategy to strengthen its international network.

The fuel price spike earlier this year had forced the airline to cut some services as a cost-control measure. With the restoration now scheduled, the airline appears to be returning to a more normal operating schedule as it heads into the winter travel period.
