Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra Appointed First CEO of Ram Temple Trust

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has appointed Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (Retd) as its first chief executive officer, a role created to manage the growing administrative machinery of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The announcement was made on Wednesday, alongside the induction of three new trustees.

Mishra, who retired from the Indian Air Force after over 38 years of service, previously served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command. In that capacity, he oversaw operations along India's western and northern borders, including during the high-pressure period of Operation Sindoor.

His military career includes commanding a fighter squadron and two frontline air bases, serving as Chief Test Pilot, and heading the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment. He also held key staff positions at Air Headquarters and the Integrated Defence Staff, including Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for Operations.

In his new role, Mishra will oversee the temple's day-to-day administration, finances, staffing, security, and coordination between various trust departments. He will also be responsible for preparing facilities and arrangements for major religious events that draw large crowds to the temple town.

The decision to create a dedicated CEO position comes as the scale of operations around the temple continues to expand. The trust's restructuring also saw the induction of three new trustees: Mahesh Bhagchandka, Madan Mohan Pandey, and Nirmala Yadav. These changes follow the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra amid allegations concerning donations.

Mishra, a native of Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, was decorated with the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and the Vishisht Seva Medal during his service. His appointment reflects a shift towards professional management of one of India's most significant religious sites.
