Akhilesh Yadav Slams Temple Trust Overhaul as BJP Appoints Ex-Air Marshal CEO

Akhilesh Yadav criticises BJP for appointing Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra as CEO of a temple trust, calling it part of BJP's appointment spree.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has taken a swipe at the BJP over the recent overhaul of a temple trust, alleging that the party is making all key appointments. His remarks come after the trust named Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra as its first Chief Executive Officer.

Mishra, who led the Western Air Command during Operation Sindoor, will now oversee the temple's management and financial affairs. The appointment is seen as part of a broader administrative restructuring of the religious body.

Yadav's jibe underscores the political friction over the composition of temple governance, with opposition parties questioning the BJP's influence in such institutions. The trust, however, has framed the appointment as a professional move to streamline operations.

Mishra's military background brings a distinct profile to the role, which has traditionally been held by civil servants or religious figures. His responsibilities will include modernising the temple's administration and ensuring transparent financial handling.
