Akshatha Pandavapura's solo play 'Leak Out' reaches its 125th show in Mysuru, exploring women's stories through audience interaction.
Theatre artist and Kannada film actress Akshatha Pandavapura will present the 125th performance of her solo play Leak Out on Friday at the Indian Institute of Educational Theatre in Mysuru. The 90-minute production is being staged under the Navyasi Ranga initiative.
The milestone show marks a significant point in the play's journey across Karnataka and its standing within the experimental theatre circuit. According to organisers, Leak Out delves into societal dynamics, suppressed voices, and human experiences by weaving together stories of diverse women.
The production blends storytelling, humour, and direct audience engagement, encouraging spectators to become active participants rather than passive observers. Each performance evolves, with Pandavapura interacting with the crowd while examining social norms, silence, and systemic issues.
"My objective has always been to bring theatre closer to the people and locate my characters right within the audience," Pandavapura said.
The 125th show begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, with free entry for all. The performance will run for 90 minutes.
