Akshay Kumar Marks Birthday With Cryptic 'Haiwaan' Teaser, Promises Unseen Side

Akshay Kumar shared a birthday video teasing his role in 'Haiwaan', hinting at deceptive appearances and a new side to his acting.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar celebrated his birthday on Monday with a special message for fans, offering a cryptic look at his upcoming film 'Haiwaan'. The actor took to social media to share a video that features fleeting shots of his character alongside co-star Saif Ali Khan, while keeping the plot tightly under wraps.

In his post, Kumar reflected on the film's central theme, suggesting that things are not always as they seem. "What looks evil may not always be evil. And what looks good may not always be good," he wrote, adding that 'Haiwaan' taught him this lesson. He expressed gratitude for the "love you've given me over the years" and promised audiences "a side of me you haven't seen before" when the film releases this Friday.

The video, shared on Instagram, shows glimpses of Kumar's character and moments with Khan, building anticipation for the film directed by Priyadarshan. This project marks the first on-screen reunion of Kumar and Khan in over a decade, following their 2008 film 'Tashan'.

Director Priyadarshan clarified that 'Haiwaan' is not a remake of his Malayalam film 'Oppam', stating he approached the story with a fresh perspective. He also addressed the decision to cast Kumar in a negative role after their successful comedy collaborations, explaining that he wanted to showcase the actor in a different light.

'Haiwaan' is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under KVN Productions and Thespian Films. The film is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 11, with music by Zee Music Company.
