Akshay Kumar Remembers Asrani After Watching His Final Shot in 'Haiwaan'

Akshay Kumar shared a scene from 'Haiwaan' featuring Asrani's last performance, calling him a legend and saying 'there can be no one like you.'

Akshay Kumar has paid an emotional tribute to the late actor Asrani, who will appear posthumously in the upcoming film 'Haiwaan.' On Friday, Akshay took to Instagram to share a clip from the movie, showing Asrani in a light-hearted exchange with actor Sharib Hashmi.

In the scene, Sharib asks Asrani's character for his name. When he replies 'Hussain,' Sharib quips, 'Don't you have anything before or after your name?' Asrani's character responds with a witty retort: 'There's a police constable behind me, and you're in front of me.'

Akshay, who has worked with Asrani in numerous films over the years, wrote in his post, "My good fortune that I got to work with this legend and see him give his last ever shot in Haiwaan. Miss you, Asrani ji...there can be no one like you."

The two actors shared screen space in popular comedies such as 'Hera Pheri,' 'Awara Paagal Deewana,' 'Garam Masala,' 'Bhagam Bhag,' 'Phir Hera Pheri,' 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa,' 'Welcome,' and 'De Dana Dan,' among others.

Asrani, known for his comic timing and memorable roles, passed away at 84 after a prolonged illness. 'Haiwaan,' directed by Priyadarshan, will mark his final screen appearance. The film also reunites Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after more than a decade, their last collaboration being 'Tashan' (2008). 'Haiwaan' is set to release in theatres on September 11.
