Two Al-Manar TV journalists wounded in Israeli strike in south Lebanon
An Israeli strike wounded two Al-Manar TV journalists covering a previous attack in Nabatiyeh, Lebanon.
Two journalists working for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV station were injured on Sunday night when an Israeli strike hit close to their live broadcast location in Nabatiyeh, a city in southern Lebanon.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. while the reporter was on air near the Husseiniyeh area in central Nabatiyeh, covering the aftermath of an earlier strike. Video footage shows the moment a missile strikes nearby, with a flash of light and the feed cutting off.
According to the station, the reporter sustained shrapnel wounds to the leg and arm, and the cameraman was also wounded. Both were reported to be in stable condition and undergoing surgery. The footage of the attack has been widely shared online.
The strike came during a wave of Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon. Lebanon's Health Ministry reported at least ten people killed on Monday, including women and children. Among the dead were eight people in a strike on a building in Kfar Rumman and a paramedic killed in a separate attack on a car.
Israel's military said its strikes were in response to Hezbollah militants launching explosive drones toward Israeli troops. It also said it targeted militants it accused of transporting weapons in Kfar Rumman. Hezbollah did not claim responsibility for any of the attacks.
