Amaal Mallik calls out Salman Khan Films over missing credits in Hero post

Music composer and singer Amaal Mallik has publicly objected to an anniversary post shared by Salman Khan Films for the 2015 film Hero, saying it left out the composer and lyricist of one of the film's songs.

Mallik raised the issue in the comments section of the production house's official social media account. He questioned why the song was being celebrated without acknowledging those who created it, and described the omission as disrespectful to the music makers.

In his comment, he pointed to the effort that goes into making a song, saying it was not appropriate for a track built on the hard work of a composer and lyricist to be marked without the creators being respected or even named. He asked the team managing the page to be more careful with such posts and urged them to get the basics right.

Mallik also asked that his comment not be deleted, stating that he wanted Salman Khan to see it and understand that the team had made a mistake.

The post in question was shared as Salman Khan Films marked the 11th anniversary of Hero, directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film introduced Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty to Hindi cinema.

Mallik composed the music for Hero, while Kumaar wrote the lyrics for Main Hoon Hero Tera, one of its popular tracks. The original version was sung by Mallik's brother, Armaan Malik, and Salman Khan also recorded his own rendition of the song.

Mallik's filmography includes soundtracks for Jai Ho, Roy, Hero, Airlift, Kapoor & Sons, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Baaghi, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Kabir Singh and Vedaa. He has also released independent tracks such as Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon, Chal Wahan Jaate Hain and Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main.
