The Ambani family carried out the Ganesh visarjan in Mumbai after midnight, with Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant dancing during the farewell procession.
The Ambani family concluded its Ganesh Chaturthi observances with the immersion of the household idol in Mumbai, stepping out after midnight on Wednesday for the visarjan ceremony.
Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were among those who took part in the procession as the idol was carried for immersion. Videos circulating on social media showed Anant and Radhika dancing through the farewell, while other family members joined the proceedings with visible enthusiasm and devotion.
The immersion followed the family's celebrations on the first day of the festival, when Antilia, their Mumbai residence, hosted a large gathering of relatives, industry associates and friends.
Among the guests were Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Shriram Nene, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Disha Patani, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, Kajol, Boman Irani, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Rekha, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal, and Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza.
Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and is observed with the installation of idols, prayers, offerings and festive get-togethers. The deity is worshipped as the giver of wisdom and prosperity and as the remover of obstacles. The celebrations traditionally end with visarjan, when the idols are immersed in water amid chants and festivity.
