Amit Shah Meets 'Hanuman Ansh' Team as Sleeper Hit Continues Strong Run
Amit Shah met the makers of 'Hanuman Ansh' in Delhi, congratulating them on the film's success as it continues to draw audiences six weeks after release.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the cast and makers of the blockbuster film 'Hanuman Ansh' in New Delhi on Monday, congratulating them on the movie's success.
Shah extended his wishes to director Vishal Chaturvedi, lead actor Shobhinaw Satyaa and singer Sadhu Tiwari. The film is based on the life of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba.
'Hanuman Ansh' has emerged as one of Bollywood's sleeper hits this year. Released in theatres last month, it drew little attention at the time of its debut. Positive word of mouth from viewers helped the film gain traction in the days that followed.
Among those who praised the film on social media were former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and actor Varun Dhawan.
Six weeks into its theatrical run, the film continues to post strong numbers. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that 'Hanuman Ansh' collected Rs 229.23 crore in Week 6.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is based on the life and teachings of Neeb Karori Baba, popularly known as Maharaj ji. According to the film's press release, he is revered by his devotees as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman and was known for his teachings on love, devotion and service.
Last week, the Uttarakhand government announced that 'Hanuman Ansh' would be made tax-free in the state. Uttarakhand Information Director General and Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) Chief Executive Officer Banshidhar Tiwari issued directions to the State Tax Department in this regard.
'Hanuman Ansh' was released in theatres on August 7, 2026.
