Amit Shah Visits New Medical College and Hospital Campus in Hubballi

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah visited the campus of JGMM Medical College and KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Hubballi, Karnataka, on Saturday.

In a post on X, Shah noted that KLE has served the nation for more than 110 years through education and healthcare. He described the new facility, with 250 MBBS seats and 1,200 beds — 300 of them reserved for the poor — as a fresh milestone in extending world-class healthcare across Karnataka.

The complex is built on roughly 50 acres at a cost of about ₹700 crore, with a total built-up area of 20 lakh square feet. The hospital is designed to offer a wide range of services under one roof.

Basic specialties available at the facility include general medicine, surgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, psychiatry, dentistry and physiotherapy.

Super-specialty services will cover cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, nephrology, organ transplantation, urology, oncology and endocrinology, supported by modern laboratories.

The hospital will also feature round-the-clock high-speed emergency and trauma care, a modern dialysis unit, digital X-ray, high-resolution CT scanning and ultrasonography.
