Andhra Police Arrest Four in Ganja Network After Officers Injured
Four alleged ganja peddlers were arrested in Andhra Pradesh after attacking police in two separate incidents, leaving officers injured.
Police in Andhra Pradesh have arrested four individuals allegedly involved in the distribution of ganja, following two separate confrontations with law enforcement in which officers were injured.
In Krishna district, Kankipadu police apprehended A. Avinad after he reportedly attacked Constable D. Srinu during an interception near Manikonda village. The suspect sustained bullet injuries to both legs when police opened fire in response and was subsequently admitted to a hospital. After being discharged, he was produced before a court, according to Gudivada Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Srinivas.
In a related operation, Devarapalli police in East Godavari district arrested three other members of the gang—identified as Charan, Prabhu, and Chinna. These individuals are accused of attacking police personnel during a vehicle check and fleeing the scene. Armed Reserve Police Constable V. Venkateswara Rao, who was injured in that incident, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Eluru Range Inspector General of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar confirmed that both cases are under investigation. The arrests mark a coordinated effort by authorities in the two districts to dismantle the network involved in the illegal drug trade.
