Andhra Pradesh to act against coaching centres backing political protests
Andhra Pradesh directs officials to act against coaching centres that push competitive exam candidates into political protests, citing violations of the 2026 regulation rules.
The Andhra Pradesh government has directed officials to take action against private coaching centres that allow their premises to be used for political activities or protests, stating that such institutions must function strictly within prescribed guidelines.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the matter and instructed officials to proceed against coaching centres found violating the Andhra Pradesh Coaching Institutions Regulation Rules, 2026, along with the guidelines issued under G.O. No. 9.
According to the government, some private institutes are allegedly pressuring candidates preparing for competitive examinations and encouraging them to join protests for political purposes. The government said such centres were using candidates to serve their own interests.
Officials have been told to initiate legal action if coaching centre operators are found inducing candidates to take part in politically motivated protests or activities.
The government said coaching centres are expected to concentrate on preparing candidates for competitive examinations in line with the prescribed regulatory framework. Field-level officials have been instructed to ensure compliance and act against those violating the rules.
Candidates have been advised not to give in to any pressure and to focus on their careers and examinations. Those facing difficulties have been asked to bring the matter to the attention of the authorities concerned.
