Girl injured by live wire at Annamayya school; skeletal remains found in Madanapalle

A Class X student was seriously injured after coming into contact with a live electric wire at the Government Model School in Reddivaripalle, located in Nimmanapalle mandal of Annamayya district, on Saturday evening. The incident came to light the following day.

The injured student was identified as Rajitha, 15. Her father, Ravikumar, said the contact occurred when she accidentally touched electric wires running close to a classroom window.

He alleged that although his daughter screamed for help, the principal and teachers did not shift her to a hospital and were negligent in providing medical assistance.

The girl's parents and local residents rushed to the school and moved her to a private hospital in Madanapalle for treatment. Residents demanded an inquiry into electrical safety measures on the school premises and action over the alleged delay in providing medical assistance.

In a separate development, tension prevailed at Chandra Colony in Madanapalle town on Sunday morning after human skeletal remains, including a skull and bones, were found on the roadside along the bypass.

Some morning walkers noticed the remains and alerted the police. Madanapalle Urban police reached the spot and took up an investigation. The remains were secured and sent for forensic examination.
