Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim to meet Kanthapuram at Markaz campus
Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim will meet Sunni leader Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar at the Markaz Central Campus during his five-day India visit.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to visit the Markaz Central Campus in Kerala on Sunday, where he will hold discussions with Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar, general secretary of the All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama.
The engagement is part of Mr. Anwar's five-day visit to India. He is expected to reach Kerala after attending the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
At the Markaz Central Campus, the Malaysian Prime Minister will take part in a special prayer gathering and attend a reception at the Markaz Convention Centre. A discussion bringing together prominent figures from religious, political and social life is also on the schedule.
Mr. Anwar will later travel to the Madavoor C.M. Valiyullahi Maqam along with Mr. Kanthapuram.
Authorities are putting in place elaborate security arrangements in and around the Markaz campus for the visit and the associated programmes. Traffic regulations will also be enforced while he arrives.
This will be Mr. Anwar's second visit to Markaz to meet Mr. Kanthapuram. He had visited the campus earlier in September 2022, a few weeks before he became Malaysia's Prime Minister.
