Andhra Pradesh SEC notifies ward-wise rolls for 41 urban local bodies
Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner has issued two notifications for ward-wise photo electoral rolls in 41 urban local bodies, to be published on September 22.
Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha issued two notifications on Tuesday for the preparation and publication of ward-wise photo electoral rolls across 41 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), clearing the way for the second ordinary elections to these civic bodies.
The rolls will also enable the State government to finalise reservation of offices, the Commissioner said.
The notifications cover 12 Municipal Corporations — among them Vijayawada, Greater Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Tirupati and Kurnool — and 29 Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats, including Proddatur, Macherla and Nandyal.
The ward-wise rolls for these 41 ULBs are to be published on September 22, along with the prescribed notice in Form-I.
Mr. Punetha said the schedule was drawn up after the Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department sought time to complete ward delimitation by mid-September. Rolls for another 17 Municipal Corporations and 58 Municipalities, where delimitation had already been completed, were published on September 3.
Municipal Commissioners and GVMC Zonal Commissioners have been authorised to adopt the latest Assembly electoral rolls, using January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. Detailed procedural instructions will be issued shortly to guide local election authorities, the Commissioner added.
