Arshad Warsi's Film Retitled 'Jeevan Ya Bheema Con' After CBFC Directive

Arshad Warsi's latest comedy, now titled Jeevan Ya Bheema Con, releases in cinemas today, September 4. The film, which features Warsi in a double role, was originally named Jeevan Bheema Yojana but underwent a last-minute title change just three days before its release.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) directed the makers to alter the title to avoid phonetic similarity with the government's life insurance scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. The board also mandated several content modifications before granting the film a U/A 16+ certificate.

According to the censor certificate, the CBFC's Examining Committee required changes in four places to remove 'inappropriate' references. An 'obscene' hand gesture and visual were replaced in two instances, and another 'obscene' visual in the second half was suitably modified. Additionally, an 'obscene' dialogue in the post-interval portion was edited.

The film was passed by the CBFC on September 1 with a runtime of 119.56 minutes (approximately 1 hour and 59 minutes). Directed by Abhishek Dogra, known for Dolly Ki Doli (2015), the film also stars Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, Pooja Chopra, and others.
