Asha Bhosle’s Last Film Song ‘Ae Meri Zindagi’ Out on Her 93rd Birth Anniversary

Asha Bhosle's final film song 'Ae Meri Zindagi' from 'Om Ka Hari' was released on her 93rd birth anniversary.

The final feature-film recording of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, ‘Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chhipi Hai Kahan,’ was released on Tuesday, coinciding with what would have been her 93rd birthday. The song is part of the music album of the upcoming Hindi family comedy-drama ‘Om Ka Hari.’

Bhosle, who passed away in December 2025, recorded the track in late 2023 at over 90 years of age. The song’s video includes behind-the-scenes footage from her recording session, giving fans a glimpse of the veteran artist at work.

The release follows the film’s music launch in Mumbai on September 7, which was attended by the cast, including Raghubir Yadav, Soni Razdan, Anshuman Jha, and Ayesha Kapur. At the event, Raghubir Yadav performed two songs from the film live. The album also features tracks by Amit Kumar, son of the late Kishore Kumar, as well as Paresh Pahuja and Raghubir Yadav.

In the behind-the-scenes video, Bhosle explains why she agreed to sing the song, saying she could not refuse after hearing it. She noted that she loved the track so much that she kept singing it constantly.

Actor Anshuman Jha expressed that having Asha Ji sing for ‘Om Ka Hari’ is something the team will never be able to put into words. He called the release on her birth anniversary serendipitous and said the film holds a small yet meaningful place in her extraordinary musical journey.

Director Harish Vyas said launching the song on Asha Ji’s birthday feels incredibly special and that the film gets to carry a piece of her musical legacy forward. He added that the release is a celebration of the singer herself.

Directed by Harish Vyas, ‘Om Ka Hari’ stars Raghubir Yadav as Hari Prasad, with Anshuman Jha as his estranged son, Om. The story follows Hari Prasad after a heart attack scare convinces him he has only days to live, prompting a chaotic road trip to Varanasi with his son that brings years of unspoken emotions to the surface. The film is set to release in Indian cinemas on September 18.
