Assam CM's Direct Reply to Student Over Scheme Payment Goes Viral
A student's viral Facebook post shows Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma replying to her query about a pending Jibon Prerana scheme payment.
A social media exchange between Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and a student has drawn widespread attention after the latter posted a screenshot of their direct conversation online.
The student, identified as Dipanwita Patgiri, had reportedly reached out to the Chief Minister over a pending payment of Rs 10,000 promised under the state's Jibon Prerana scheme. In the screenshot she shared on Facebook, Mr Sarma is seen responding in Assamese: "Dipanwita, pothiyaisu. pala ne?" — which translates to, "Dipanwita, I've sent it. Did you receive it?"
The post surfaced amid ongoing social media discussions about the disbursal of funds under the scheme. While several beneficiaries have shared updates confirming receipt of the assistance, others have voiced concerns over delays in payment.
Following the viral circulation of the screenshot, Mr Sarma himself shared the exchange from his official Facebook account, confirming the interaction was genuine. The development has added to the wider conversation around the Jibon Prerana scheme, a financial assistance initiative by the Assam government aimed at supporting eligible students across the state.
