Assam Man Missing in Nepal Floods, Family Appeals for Help
An Assamese man working in Nepal has gone missing in the devastating floods. His family has appealed to the Assam government for assistance.
A resident of Assam has gone missing in the catastrophic floods that have struck Nepal. The individual, identified as Rahul Daimari, hails from Jaipukhuri village in the Merapani area. He is believed to have been swept away by floodwaters in the Trishuli Khola region of Nuwakot district in central Nepal.
Daimari was employed with a pipeline company named Andrex in Nepal. He had previously worked in Bhutan before being transferred to the Himalayan nation. His family learned of his disappearance after his name appeared on a list of missing persons released by the Assam government.
According to family members, Daimari had recently returned home following the death of his father. After completing the funeral rites, he departed for Nepal again on August 14 to resume his duties. Since then, neither his employer nor the Nepalese authorities have provided any information about his whereabouts.
Nuwakot district was among the areas most severely affected by the recent floods. The Daimari family has now appealed to the Assam government to take immediate measures to trace him and ensure his safe return.
