Bandi Sanjay Accuses BRS of Mass Land Encroachment, Announces Dandayatra
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleges BRS leaders encroached thousands of acres of land and announces a BJP 'Dandayatra' against the encroachments.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused BRS leaders of encroaching upon thousands of acres of land during the party's nearly decade-long rule in Telangana, and demanded that the land be recovered and distributed among the poor.
Speaking to the media at Kothapalli near Karimnagar on Wednesday night, he said nearly 60% of Telangana's population does not own land, while 25 lakh families lack even a small plot on which to build a house.
The BJP will launch a 'Dandayatra' against the alleged land encroachments, he said.
Mr. Sanjay also questioned the status of SIT probes into alleged irregularities relating to power purchase agreements, the Formula E Race, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and the sheep scheme.
He further asked why Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took 1,000 days to reveal the land encroachments that he said occurred under the previous BRS government.
The Union Minister said he had raised the issue of large-scale land encroachments during his padayatra, despite what he described as veiled threats from BRS leaders in the past.
