
BEML Q1 Revenue Up 29%, Loss Narrows as EBITDA Turns Positive
BEML's Q1 revenue rose 29% to Rs 819.62 crore, net loss narrowed to Rs 27.01 crore, and EBITDA turned positive.
Defence public sector undertaking BEML Limited has reported a 29% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations for the first quarter of FY27, alongside a sharp narrowing of its net loss and a return to positive operating earnings.
Revenue from operations for the April-June quarter stood at Rs 819.62 crore, up from Rs 633.99 crore in the same period last year. The company's consolidated net loss narrowed to Rs 27.01 crore from Rs 64.11 crore in Q1 FY26. Loss before tax also declined to Rs 33.71 crore from Rs 70.28 crore a year earlier.
The company's EBITDA turned positive at Rs 3 crore during the quarter, marking its first positive first-quarter EBITDA in a decade. The improvement was driven by higher production and a sharp rise in new orders. Value of Production rose 16% year-on-year to Rs 777 crore, supported by better execution across key business segments.
Order inflows during the quarter surged 172% year-on-year to Rs 1,181 crore, compared to Rs 435 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Of the total orders secured, Mining and Construction contributed Rs 589 crore, Defence accounted for Rs 581 crore, and Rail and Metro added Rs 11 crore.
BEML's total order book stood at Rs 16,284 crore at the end of the June quarter, providing revenue visibility across its Defence, Rail and Metro, and Mining and Construction businesses.
Separately, the board recommended a revised final dividend of Rs 12.28 per equity share of face value Rs 5 each for FY26, representing 246% of paid-up share capital. This amount is inclusive of the Rs 0.55 per share dividend recommended earlier on May 29, 2026.
