Bengaluru Police Bust Drug Ring, Seize Narcotics Worth ₹24.22 Crore
Bengaluru City Police arrested seven and seized drugs worth ₹24.22 crore in raids across four police stations.
In a coordinated anti-narcotics drive, the Bengaluru City Police have dismantled an alleged drug peddling network, arresting seven individuals and seizing contraband valued at approximately ₹24.22 crore. The operation, conducted under the South Division, involved simultaneous raids by teams from the Girinagar, Indiranagar, Chikkajala, and Govindapura police stations.
The arrested individuals include a foreign national, five people from other states, and local residents. Acting on specific intelligence about the sale and distribution of banned substances within these jurisdictions, the police launched the crackdown. Investigators allege that the accused procured narcotics from unidentified suppliers abroad and from other Indian states at lower prices, then sold them at a significant markup to the public and college students.
The substantial seizure comprised 11 kg 237 gm of MDMA, 2 kg 352 gm of hydro ganja, and 10 kg of ganja, in addition to a mobile phone. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh confirmed that the arrests followed raids based on credible information about active drug networks in the city. A detailed investigation into the supply chain and potential links is currently underway.
