Bengaluru cybercrime inspector dies in MP bus accident during probe
Bengaluru Police Inspector K.B. Ravi died in a bus accident in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district while on a cybercrime investigation. Two colleagues were injured.
A Bengaluru Police inspector died in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning while leading a cybercrime investigation, according to police sources.
Inspector K.B. Ravi, posted at the Southeast CEN Police Station in Bengaluru, was travelling with his team from Bhopal to Indore in a local bus. The vehicle lost control and fell into a gorge near the Bhopal Bypass in Rajgarh district. Ravi was thrown from the bus by the impact and succumbed to his injuries.
Two other officers from the same police station sustained multiple injuries in the crash but are reported to be out of danger.
Ravi, a 2007-batch officer, was known within the department for his calm demeanour. He had served at the Ashok Nagar Police Station before his transfer to the Southeast CEN Police Station, where he handled several high-profile cases. Colleagues described him as humble, honest, and intelligent.
The body was brought to Bengaluru on Friday night, with Director-General of Police M.A. Saleem and other senior officers receiving it at HAL Airport. It was later taken to the City Armed Reserve hall in Adugodi for public viewing.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar expressed condolences to Ravi's family, saying the department had lost a dedicated officer and offering prayers for the departed soul.
