Bengaluru police have arrested a man accused of attempting to murder a person by brandishing a dagger on a public road in Jayanagar 9th Block, an incident that triggered panic after footage of the act spread on social media.

The episode unfolded in front of a mobile showroom on a public road falling under the jurisdiction of the Tilak Nagar police station. According to police, the accused was seen riding a two-wheeler while carrying weapons and allegedly threatening people, a video of which went viral on September 19.

Investigators found that the accused had allegedly quarrelled with the complainant over a monetary dispute before the confrontation. A case was registered and a probe was launched, police said in a release.
