A 23-year-old software engineer died and her friend was injured after falling from the seventh floor of a PG in Bengaluru's Whitefield following an argument.
A 23-year-old software engineer died, and a 30-year-old man was seriously injured after both fell from the seventh floor of a private co-living facility in Bengaluru's Whitefield on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Janani, a native of Ulaivaikkal in Puducherry. She was employed at Societe Generale and had been residing at Mountain PG on ECC Road since January. The injured man, Manichavelu, hails from Nallathur in Puducherry and works with a logistics company.
Preliminary investigations suggest the two were involved in an argument earlier in the morning. Janani allegedly moved toward the edge of the building and was about to jump when she is suspected to have pulled Manichavelu along with her, causing both to fall.
Janani died on the spot. Manichavelu, however, survived after reportedly landing on tree branches before hitting the ground. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police visited the scene and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered, and authorities are investigating the exact circumstances leading to the incident, including the reason behind the argument.
