Three killed in separate road accidents across Bengaluru
Three people died in separate road accidents in Bengaluru, including a five-year-old boy hit by a truck.
Bengaluru witnessed a spate of fatal road accidents over the past two days, with three people, including a young child, losing their lives in separate incidents.
On Monday morning, five-year-old Bhuveen was killed on the Uttarahalli main road while riding pillion on a two-wheeler with his mother, Shubhalatha. Police suspect she attempted to overtake a truck and collided with an oncoming motorcycle. The impact threw the child under the truck's wheels, killing him instantly. Shubhalatha escaped with minor injuries. The truck driver and the motorcyclist fled the scene, and the Kengeri traffic police have registered a hit-and-run case.
In a separate incident on Sunday, 36-year-old Chetan died in Kengeri after reportedly losing control of his motorcycle and falling onto the road, where he was run over by a lorry. He was returning home from work at the time.
A third fatality occurred near the ISKCON temple in Mahalakshmi Layout on Sunday evening. Mohammed Muktiyar, a 63-year-old auto driver, was killed when a lorry rammed his autorickshaw, causing it to veer into a KSRTC bus. Two passengers in the auto sustained minor injuries. Muktiyar died on the spot.
