Bengaluru Woman Stripped, Assaulted, Filmed Over Loan Repayment; Four Arrested
Four people, including two women, were arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly stripping and assaulting a woman over unpaid loan interest, and filming the act.
Bengaluru police have arrested four individuals, including two women, in connection with the alleged assault and humiliation of a woman over unpaid loan interest. The accused have been identified as Nazrath, Reshma, Suheil, and Saif.
The victim had borrowed Rs 1 lakh from Reshma two years ago and had not paid interest for the past six months. She had also taken Rs 50,000 from Nazrath, whom she met through Reshma, and was repaying Rs 5,000 weekly. However, she reportedly defaulted for about four weeks due to financial difficulties.
Fearing harassment, the woman said she blocked Reshma's number and moved to a new location. Nazrath then contacted her, promising work and money. When the victim went to Nazrath's house, she was allegedly abused and assaulted by Suheil.
The victim further alleged that she was forced into an autorickshaw, with Reshma and Nazrath seated beside her while Suheil and two others accompanied them. She was taken to a house near Kumbalgodu on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where she was confined, stripped, and assaulted. The accused also filmed the act and threatened to circulate the video online.
A missing complaint filed by the victim's mother led police to trace and rescue the woman. The four accused have been arrested, and a detailed investigation into the case is underway.
