A 23-year-old woman from Bengaluru died during a visit to Sakleshpur taluk in Hassan district, prompting her parents to file a complaint with the Sakleshpur Rural Police over suspicions about the circumstances of her death.
The woman had checked into a lodge at Hiriyur in Valahalalli Gram Panchayat on September 11 along with two friends. According to the Superintendent of Police, Hassan, the two companions were Raghu and Darshan, both autorickshaw drivers, and the woman had known them for a long time.
On September 15, around 5.30 p.m., she fell in the bathroom of the lodge. Her friends took her to a hospital in Hettur, and from there she was shifted to the government hospital in Sakleshpur, where doctors declared her dead.
Police informed her parents in Bengaluru about the death. The parents reached Sakleshpur and filed a complaint in the early hours of Wednesday.
The SP said the family has some suspicion about the death, and an unnatural death report has been registered. The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. The officer added that the two friends have been cooperating with the investigation.
