RSS chief: A Hindu who wants no Muslims in Bharat 'will not remain Hindu'

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that any Hindu who believes there should be no Muslims in Bharat would, by that very belief, cease to be a Hindu. Speaking at the 'One World One Humanity' event in New York, Bhagwat asserted that calling oneself Hindu requires the conviction that all spiritual paths lead to the same goal and that every human being possesses inherent dignity.

"There is no difference between human beings," he said, adding that the RSS's foundational belief is that all humanity is one. He described diversity as a "decoration of our inner unity" that must be accepted, respected, and preserved, even as unity remains the underlying truth.

Bhagwat also stressed the reciprocal nature of identity, saying, "Just as I protect my identity, I have to protect that of others." He noted that since the Sangh's inception in 1925, it has built a position of trust and prestige within Indian society over the past century, and that it is the organisation's duty to share the message of essential oneness with the world.
