Bhansali completes shoot of epic romance 'Love and War'

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has wrapped principal photography on his much-anticipated period romance 'Love and War', bringing a two-year production journey to a close. The film, which unites Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles, will now move into post-production.

The announcement came through a press note from the makers, who described an emotional farewell on set as the team marked the completion of the shoot. The project was officially unveiled in January 2024, with the initial social media post promising an "epic saga" from the acclaimed director.

'Love and War' carries significant professional milestones for its cast. It marks the first collaboration between Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor since the actor's 2007 debut 'Saawariya'. For Vicky Kaushal, this is his first project with the filmmaker. Alia Bhatt, meanwhile, previously worked with Bhansali on the 2022 drama 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 21, 2027.

Alia Bhatt was most recently seen in the Yash Raj Films production 'Alpha', which also featured Sharvari and Bobby Deol.
