Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 Premieres with 19 Contestants, New Democracy Room

The tenth season of Bigg Boss Tamil went on air on Sunday, September 6, with a premiere that introduced several format changes. Host Vijay Sethupathi opened the show with a virtual interaction with Mohanlal, Kichcha Sudeep, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, who host the other southern Indian editions of the reality franchise, all of which premiered the same day.

A key addition this year is the 'Democracy Room', a new space inside the house that will influence how the season unfolds. The premiere also featured a novel selection process: a live studio audience was given the power to vote on shortlisted contestants based solely on their on-stage pitches. This led to immediate eliminations on launch night, with 29 personalities initially presented to the audience.

Ultimately, 19 contestants entered the house, marking the first time in the show's history that commoners have been included alongside celebrities. The confirmed list includes actors Lakshmi Priya, Shathiga, Pandi, Chandini Tamilarasan, Raaghav Ranganathan, Dhanyaa Pallath, and Kumaran Thangarajan, as well as dancer Avinash Ashok, mimicry artist Vinoth Babu, and television personality 'Adavadi' Ansar. Social media influencer Prithivinath, model Javeed Sherif, make-up artist Asmitha Neelamegam, content creator Savinya Velu, and actor-dancer Mukesh are also part of the lineup. The three commoner contestants are Shama, Muniyammal, and Jason.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 airs on Star Vijay at 9:30 PM and streams on JioHotstar, which also offers an unfiltered 24-hour live channel.
