Bihar Police Book Social Media User Over AI-Generated Videos of Jamui Victim

Bihar Police have registered a case against a social media user accused of uploading several AI-generated videos featuring the girl who was molested in Jamui district and her male friend, according to an official statement.

The clips, posted from an account with the user ID Kishori Kumar Yadav, were described by the Jamui police as misleading and fabricated. The statement, issued on Friday night, said the uploads had the effect of revealing the girl's identity and could disturb social harmony.

The case has been lodged at a cyber police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the Juvenile Justice Act and the Information Technology Act.

The incident at the centre of the case dates back to the evening of September 19, when the girl and her friend — both students at a coaching institute — were harassed by a group of people. The matter surfaced two days later after a video of the episode began circulating widely on social media.

Investigators have since taken three accused, all of them minors, into custody and produced them before the Juvenile Justice Board. Two other accused were arrested following an encounter in which one of them sustained a bullet injury.
