BJP alleges 'paper loot' in Jharkhand exam, questions Congress silence

The BJP on Saturday escalated its attack on the Opposition over an alleged security breach at a Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) strongroom, characterising the incident as a "paper loot" rather than a simple leak.

Speaking to the media, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that question papers for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Range Officer were removed from the strongroom and tampered with. He claimed the episode exposes the fragility of the examination's security arrangements and undermines the Congress-led INDI alliance's professed commitment to protecting student interests.

Trivedi noted that while these parties have been vocal in Delhi about examination-related issues, they have remained conspicuously quiet on the Jharkhand development. The Congress is a partner in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led state government.

In a related line of attack, Trivedi questioned why only three women ministers serve in the four Congress-ruled state governments. He called the silence of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on this matter "unfortunate," pointing to Kharge's earlier letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging immediate implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill without awaiting delimitation.

Trivedi argued that this contrast between the Congress's stated positions and its actual record reflects a broader "crisis of credibility" in politics. He contrasted what he termed the authenticity of Prime Minister Modi with what he described as the gap between words and actions under the current Congress leadership.
