BJP Reshuffles National Team: Malviya, Surya Out; Smriti Irani Returns

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a revamped national organisational structure under its president, Nitin Nabin, in a reshuffle that brings back several familiar faces and changes the leadership of key party wings.

The changes come as the party prepares for a series of elections and works to strengthen its organisation across states and social groups.

Among the most notable exits, Amit Malviya has been replaced as head of the party's IT Cell, and Tejasvi Surya is no longer president of the youth wing. Deepak Mhaskey will lead the IT and social-media operations, while Hemang Joshi takes charge of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

Former Union minister Smriti Irani has been brought back into a central role as a national general secretary. Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also returned to the national organisational set-up.

The new structure includes 13 national vice-presidents, eight national general secretaries and 16 national secretaries, along with fresh appointments to the party's morchas, which function as its organisational arms for women, youth, OBCs, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, minorities and farmers.

Several general secretary posts have changed hands. Harish Dwevidi replaces Arun Singh, Smriti Irani replaces Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, Satish Poonia replaces Tarun Chug, and Gajendra Patel replaces Dushyant Gautam. Biplab Deb and Sanjay Bhatia fill vacancies in the same rank.

Piyush Goyal takes over as treasurer from Rajesh Agrawal. Roop Kumari will head the Mahila Morcha in place of Vanathi Srinivasan, while Amarpal Maurya replaces K Laxman as OBC chief.

Bansilal Gurjar replaces Rajkumar Chahar at the Kisan Morcha, Shivesh Kumar Ram replaces Lal Singh Arya at the SC Morcha, Mangalam Rawat replaces Sameer Oraon at the ST Morcha, and Kunwar Basit Ali replaces Jamal Siddiqui at the Minority Morcha.
