BJP to launch month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan for Modi’s 25 years in public life
BJP will run a month-long outreach from Sept 17, marking PM Modi’s 25 years in public life with blood donation, bike rallies, and innovation challenges.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will launch a month-long outreach campaign, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The announcement was made by BJP president Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters on Wednesday.
The campaign will begin on September 17 — Modi’s birthday — and run through mid-October. October 7 will mark the completion of his 25 years as an elected representative, a milestone that began with his tenure as Gujarat chief minister in 2001.
As part of the initiative, the party will organise a blood donation camp on September 17, designated as Seva Diwas. Party workers and beneficiaries of central welfare schemes will also light ceremonial lamps at their homes under the Aashirwad Ka Diya programme.
The outreach will span 12 categories, including youth-focused events and a national interaction where Modi will address public representatives from the sarpanch level upwards. School-level drawing and play competitions will highlight his journey, while the Seva Ki Kahani programme will encourage citizens to share personal stories of how government policies have changed their lives.
Other planned activities include bike rallies from Vadnagar in Gujarat — Modi’s birthplace — to his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, human chain competitions, and a Seva First Innovation Challenge aimed at students, startups, and professionals. The challenge will reward innovative ideas centred on national welfare and policy.
Nabin credited Modi’s leadership with transforming India’s global standing, noting that the country had moved from being labelled one of the ‘Fragile Five’ economies to becoming the fastest-growing major economy. He also highlighted efforts to end Naxalism and the restoration of cultural sites such as the Ram Mandir and Kashi Vishwanath.
Recalling Modi’s Gujarat years, Nabin pointed to the Narmada project for water supply and the Vibrant Gujarat initiative as models of development. He also noted a shift in perception of border villages, which are now referred to as the ‘first villages’ rather than the ‘last villages’ of India.
