BJP Asks State In-Charges to Prioritise Field Work Over Delhi Visits
BJP directs newly appointed state in-charges to spend more time in their assigned states and strengthen the party down to booth level.
The BJP has directed its newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges to devote more time to their assigned states and concentrate on strengthening the party at the ground level, rather than making frequent trips to the national capital.
The instruction was conveyed at a significant organisational meeting chaired by BJP president Nitin Nabin at the party's central office in New Delhi. All state in-charges and co-in-charges for states and Union Territories attended the meeting, along with national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and national co-general secretaries (organisation) Shiv Prakash and Saudan Singh.
According to sources, the functionaries were told to visit their respective states regularly and spend adequate time with the organisational set-up there. They were asked to focus on the responsibilities assigned to them and to place the party's organisational interests ahead of individual activities.
The meeting also emphasised that every organisational meeting should have a clear and detailed agenda, with a review at the next meeting to assess whether the targets set had been achieved.
State in-charges have been asked to strengthen the organisation down to the booth level and to maintain regular meetings with workers. Those handling poll-bound states were specifically instructed to make frequent visits and remain closely connected with the ground-level organisation.
The party also wants its functionaries to step up outreach among women, youth and different sections of society. Leaders have been asked to organise programmes across all 37 states and Union Territories to engage with young people and to send feedback regularly to the party leadership.
The meeting further focused on taking the Centre and state government's welfare schemes to people through the party organisation. Functionaries were asked to involve senior and long-standing party workers and to ensure that the organisational network remains active at the grassroots.
Sources said the leadership also conveyed that functionaries should avoid unnecessary trips to Delhi, with the emphasis instead on spending more time in their assigned states and delivering on the organisational responsibilities given to them.
