BJP Appoints In-Charges for All States and UTs in Organisational Reshuffle

The BJP has announced in-charges and co-in-charges for all 28 states and eight Union territories, in an organisational exercise that also reshuffled responsibilities within its communication apparatus.

National general secretary Smriti Irani has been given charge of Haryana and Chhattisgarh, while party vice-president Ram Madhav will oversee Tamil Nadu. The appointments were announced by BJP president Nitin Nabin.

In a related change, Anil Baluni has been elevated as coordinator of the party's communication department, which oversees the national media cell and the social media unit. Ashish Usha Agrawal, recently named co-convenor of the national media department, has been promoted to convenor — a position Baluni had held until now.

Several other leaders have been assigned key states. Senior leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe will be in-charge of Delhi, with Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Darshana Jardosh as co-in-charges. General secretary Vinod Tawde has been given Uttar Pradesh, where Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pardeep Varma and Anand Ojha will serve as co-in-charges.

Vice-president Baijayant Jay Panda has been made in-charge of Maharashtra, with Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat named co-in-charges. The full list of assignments was issued through a party notification.
