BJP Rebuts Rahul Gandhi's 'Vote Chori' Charge Against Election Commission

The Bharatiya Janata Party has rejected the allegations levelled by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi against the Election Commission, with party national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi leading the pushback.
Gandhi made the charges at a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday, where he accused the poll body and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of serious irregularities. He framed his complaint around the charge of "vote chori", or vote theft.
Responding to the remarks, Trivedi dismissed the allegations and pushed back on the framing, suggesting that the opposition's claims did not reflect the ground reality.
The exchange marks a fresh flashpoint between the opposition and the ruling party over the credibility of the electoral machinery, with the Leader of the Opposition directly naming the Chief Election Commissioner in his allegations.
The BJP's response signals that the ruling party intends to contest the charge politically rather than let it pass, setting up a continuing confrontation over the conduct of elections.
